<image:title>Bishops Counseling - A blog to feed the female mind.</image:title>
<image:caption>These words are penned with grace, to provide thought provoking ideas and opinions about issues women struggle with today. The intention of this blog is to challenge your mindset, and in turn provide an opportunity for you to question your own thoughts and beliefs regarding numerous topics. I am hopeful that some of the words written and articles posted will draw you in and encourage you to think deeply about your own needs, desires and overall state of being. Remember as you read that our opinions and beliefs are deeply rooted in who we are, and when they feel challenged we can feel a range of emotion. Emotion felt and experienced can give way to growth, so I encourage you to lean into it. My desire is that we all learn together through this introspective journey. I’m also excited to share that I have authored my first book, Boundaries Are A Woman’s Best Friend: The Female Guide to Self Awareness and Healthy Relationships. I hope it is an encouragement to you! Thanks for stopping by!</image:caption>

<image:title>Bishops Counseling - How To Say “No” Without Guilt-A Guide for Women - Do you struggle saying ‘no’ without feeling guilty?</image:title>
<image:caption>You’re not alone. Many women feel torn between pleasing others and protecting their own energy. The good news? Setting boundaries doesn’t have to leave you feeling bad—it can empower you. Here’s how to say ‘no’ confidently, guilt-free. Step 1: Know Your Limits To master setting boundaries for women, start by identifying what you’re comfortable with. Ask yourself: What drains me? What gives me life? What are my priorities? What do I need to protect my peace? Knowing your limits is the foundation of a strong ‘no.’ Step 2: Practice Simple, Kind Responses You don’t need a long excuse. Try phrases like, “Thanks for asking, but I can’t right now,” or “I need to prioritize myself today.” These keep it clear and kind. The more you practice, the easier saying ‘no’ becomes. Step 3: Reframe ‘No’ as Self-Care Guilt often creeps in because we tie our worth to others’ approval. Flip that script: saying ‘no’ isn’t selfish—it’s self-respect. It’s about honoring your needs, which makes you able to be more present for everyone else and with yourself, in tandem. Saying ‘no’ without guilt is a skill every woman can learn. It’s a small shift with big rewards—more time, less stress, and healthier connections. Want to dive deeper into setting boundaries for women? My book, Boundaries Are a Woman’s Best Friend, offers practical tools to make it second nature. Grab your copy on Amazon here and start saying ‘no’ with confidence!</image:caption>

<image:title>Home - Hi! I’m Jenna. I’m so glad you are here! As a licensed clinical social worker, I offer individual, couples, and emerging adult counseling to support the treatment of relational issues, anxiety, trauma and overall health and wellness. I strive to refocus the therapeutic process back to the issues women struggle with on a daily basis; issues such as comparison, perfectionism, vulnerability and shame. I work with women to help them live their best life through self exploration, healing and action. I know how much courage it takes to reach out for help, and I honor your bravery in doing so. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside you as you heal and find meaningful change. Take a look around and let me know how I can support you. I look forward to connecting with you!</image:title>

      <image:title>About Me - My Focus</image:title>
<image:caption>I am deeply passionate about women who want to live their life to the full, unashamed and connected to who they are! I have had the unique opportunity to work with women of all ages at varying stages in their life, and it has fostered my passion for their hearts and minds. I strive to refocus the therapeutic process back to the issues women struggle with on a daily basis; issues such as comparison, perfectionism, vulnerability and shame. I received a bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Arkansas. After receiving a Masters degree in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington, I went on to pursue my certification as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. This level of certification was obtained through high risk, direct therapeutic care, over a two year period of time. In addition, I am a Certified Faith Based Therapist, which allows me to support those who value their faith as a part of their healing process. As a LCSW approved supervisor I provide part-time supervision and consultation to Masters level social workers looking to pursue their LCSW certification. I am also y12sr Yoga trained, which assists me in body work for clients with trauma backgrounds. I consistently make an effort to obtain as much education as possible, as I have a deep love of learning and desire to have as many tools as possible for my clients to benefit from. I am also the author of Boundaries Are A Woman’s Best Friend: The Female Guide to Self Awareness and Healthy Relationships. I believe the most important component of therapy is the relationship that exists between you and me. Therefore, I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to help you see if I am the right fit. Besides being a therapist and an educator, I am also a wife to Ben and Mama to Ellen. I find great joy in my family, friends, cooking (eating), yoga, running, needlepointing, travel, self exploration, writing and learning.</image:caption>
